SESSION 1 — BIRDS & WORDS WEEKEND (Fri. May 10th to Sun. May 12th)  

"BIRDS & WORDS" —  This weekend workshop will include a Saturday writing workshop and evening tickets to the Springsong Reading Banquet. This annual event includes a reading from an award-winning author, a live auction to raise money for the Pelee Island Bird Observatory, as well as the celebrated "rubber chicken choir." The banquet is hosted by Margaret Atwood and Paul Vasey. Your stay at the Book House includes meals, accommodations, workshop fees, and a ticket to the banquet. The workshop is intended to get you writing with talks from published writers and industry professionals. Whether just starting out or an established author, there is something for everyone. Space is limited and it is sold out every year. A portion of the proceeds from your booking will be donated to PIBO. TO SUBMIT, please follow the instructions under the "APPLY" tab. There is no writing submission required for this workshop. Once the preliminary on-line form has been received, you will be sent an email with booking information. 


SESSION 2 — Mon. May 13th to Sun. May 19th (7-day workshop) 

"WRITING INTENSIVE" — A  seven day writing retreat with two workshops, instructed by an award-winning author (TBA). There will be two workshops, each approximately 3-4 hours, and participants will meet with the instructor for a one-on-one consultation of their submitted work. This retreat is intended for writers who are looking for dedicated space and time to work on a particular piece of writing. Publication history is not necessary, although each applicant will be selected based on their artistic goals and if it is likely they will benefit from the workshop. Applicants must submit a writing sample to be considered. TO SUBMIT, please fill out the on-line form under the "APPLY" tab.
